WhatsApp is expected to soon introduce a feature that will allow users to log out of the app whenever they want, according to a WABetaInfo report. With this feature, users will be able to take a break from the constant bombardment of messages.
Until now, users always log into the app and receive messages whenever they are sent.
According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp will soon launch the "Sign Out" feature for the messaging app. Users have been asking for this "logout" feature for a while now.
The new feature will bring convenience to users who do not want to receive messages for a certain period. For the current version of WhatsApp, users have to either uninstall the app or turn off mobile data/Wi-Fi in order to stop receiving messages.
The Sign Out option is a common feature in a large number of other social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
The Sign Out feature will help WhatsApp users to monitor their social media consumption. This will be possible as users will have the option to log out of WhatsApp whenever they feel like it.
The Sign Out feature will be available on both WhatsApp Messenger and the Business version of the app.
According to a WABetaInfo report, “There will be a new option called Sign Out, which will allow your device to be unlinked from the main WhatsApp account. Currently, the Sign Out option replaces deleting the account on users’ devices already but their plans may change, moving/copying the option in the section Previous Associated Devices."
WABetaInfo also mentioned another new feature called "Multiple Device Support". This new feature was spotted on WhatsApp beta for iOS by WABetaInfo.
According to a WABetaInfo report, "WhatsApp is developing two different types of multi-devices - Multi-devices with WhatsApp Web where you can use WhatsApp Web without your main phone to connect to the Internet. Multi-devices with other devices where you can connect up to 4 different devices to your main WhatsApp account ."
